Meet Industrial Radiator Product Support Sales Representative Sean Schroeder

The Industrial Radiator Service team continues to grow with the addition of Product Support Sales Representative (PSSR), Sean Schroeder. He is an experienced technician with a background in aerospace mechanics and diesel engine mechanics. The 12 years Sean has spent working on diesel engines in the oilfield service industry will add tremendous value to Industrial Radiator’s presence in the Permian basin and surrounding area. Sean embodies our commitment to outstanding customer service and unmatched product quality and support. We are excited to introduce him to the growing Industrial Radiator community.

Q: How did you get your start working on high horsepower diesel engines?

Sean: I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. My dad was an aircraft mechanic, so he inspired me at an early age to pursue a career in technical service. My first service job was as a Honda technician right out of high school. After that, I attended Colorado Aerotech, where I earned my A&P license and FCC certification to work on aircraft electronics and other systems.

I gained experience in the automotive and aerospace industries. My love for speed and power has always motivated me to work on bigger and faster vehicles. I really became interested in high horsepower diesel engines after my first experience witnessing a frac pump fire up. I was hooked after that. This led me to the oil and gas industry, where I worked throughout the Permian Basin in Texas and the Denver-Julesburg (DJ) Basin in Colorado.

Q: What inspired you to join the team at Industrial Radiator Service?

Sean: I first met Chad Spence while I was working for an oilfield service company as a maintenance supervisor. His quality of craftsmanship and quick turnaround led to our developing a good working relationship. He has been an inspiration to me because of his intense focus on customer service and his tireless work ethic. The positive attitude of this team at Industrial Radiator Service is honestly unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. There is no one else putting as much time and effort into doing outstanding cooling system work and going the extra mile for their customers. I jumped at the chance to be a part of this group and to use my expertise to help it continue to grow.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working in the cooling system industry?

Sean: What I enjoy the most is the challenge. I love to learn new things, and even though I’ve been in this industry a long time, I’m constantly meeting new challenges and having to find creative solutions to problems for my customers. It’s been a fun journey translating all of my maintenance mechanic training to diesel engine cooling system skills, and now to additional sales and support duties.

In my role as Product Support Sales Representative, I get to both interact with customers and be hands-on with our service team. This dual responsibility of growing our customer base and executing solutions to fulfill product needs without any downtime is a perfect fit for me.

Q: What are your initial goals as PSSR for Industrial Radiator Service?

Sean: Over the next year, my first priority is to help Industrial Radiator become the leading radiator service company in the state of Texas. I know we’ll be able to accomplish that goal because of our drive and our focus on customer satisfaction. Beyond that, we have plans to expand into Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico and other nearby states. In particular, my experience in oil and gas will help us better serve that industry, not only with cooling system service but also hydraulic services. The cooling systems used by the natural gas companies are enormous and require true experts to service effectively. We are the ideal provider to meet those needs.

I am also interested in leveraging my skills to help develop new types of cooling packages. For example, there is exciting new technology in the works that will dampen the sound generated by current cooling systems used in fracking operations. Our team is in a unique position to help engineer innovative solutions that will provide value to our customers beyond routine maintenance.

Q: What is something interesting about you that most people may not know?

Sean: One of my hobbies is woodworking, including custom cabinetry and furniture. It’s part of my passion for craftsmanship and engineering. In fact, I’ve worked on some large architectural design projects, including pieces for Mile High Stadium in Denver and former Denver Broncos Head Coach Mike Shanahan’s restaurant. Building a custom trophy case for a replica of the Vince Lombardi Super Bowl Trophy was an especially fun challenge.
